Home » Brass Cable Glands, Gland Kits & Accessories
HEX brass cable glands terminate PVC-insulated, steel wire armoured (SWA) cable where it enters switchgear, panels and equipment. The glands are made to the requirements of BS 6121-1:2005 and are used with 600/1000 V copper conductor cables to BS 6346:1997. Each product page lists the cable dimensions it accepts, the entry thread, the hexagon size and the product code.
BW (2-part and 3-part), CW (3-part and 4-part), E1W and A1/A2 glands, plus marine watertight, single compression, nickel-plated IP68 (metric and PG thread) and aluminium glands.
Single and double compression glands in heavy-duty (SIBG) and medium-duty types, weather proof and flame proof-cum-weather proof versions, flange type, and BW, CW, A1/A2, E1W and IP68 brass glands.
Armoured or unarmoured cable? Armoured cable needs a gland that clamps the armour (BW, CW, A1/A2, E1W). Unarmoured cable uses a single compression gland.
Measure the cable. Note the diameter under the armour, the overall diameter and the armour wire diameter. Match them to the gland size using the cable gland selection guide or the tables on each product page.
Add the accessories. A shroud, lock nut and earth tag complete most installations. See the gland accessories.
