Electrical Lugs — Manufacturer & Exporter

HEX manufactures a comprehensive range of high-quality electrical lugs designed for power distribution, switchgear, industrial wiring, and infrastructure applications. Backed by over 30 years of precision manufacturing experience and an ISO 9001 certification, our cable lugs are engineered to deliver reliable, low-resistance terminations across conductor sizes ranging from 1.5 mm² to 1000 mm².

Our electrical lugs are supplied to leading EPC contractors, OEM panel builders, and infrastructure developers across India, as well as to major export markets including the Middle East, Southeast Asia, Europe, America, and Africa.

Product Range: Types of Electrical Lugs We Manufacture

The HEX electrical lug portfolio covers all major conductor materials, termination configurations, and industrial application requirements. Each product line is manufactured in strict compliance with applicable Indian and international standards.

Our copper cable lugs are manufactured from high-conductivity electrolytic copper (min. 99.9% purity) and are available in crimping and compression configurations. The barrel is precision-formed to ensure consistent wall thickness and optimal crimping performance.

Available variants:

  • Copper Tubular Cable Terminal Ends
  • Copper Tubular — Two-Holes
  • Copper Tubular — Bell Mouth
  • Copper Tubular — Economy Range
  • Four-Holes Cable Terminal Ends
  • Four-Holes Cable Terminal Ends — Economy Range

Standards:
IS 191 | DIN 46235 | IEC 61238-1/BS EN 61238-1
Conductor range: 1.5 mm² – 1000 mm²

Manufactured from high-grade aluminium alloy, our aluminium cable lugs are designed for use with aluminium conductors in overhead lines, distribution transformers, and heavy-duty power applications where weight reduction is a primary consideration.

Available variants:

  • Compression Type Aluminium Tubular Cable Terminal Ends
  • Aluminium Lugs — Two Hole
  • Bimetallic Lugs (aluminium body, copper palm) for AL-CU transition joints

Standards:
IS 5082 | IEC 61238-1
Conductor range: 16 mm² – 1000 mm²

Pin-type lugs provide a compact, vibration-resistant termination for switchgear, MCCBs, ACBs, and DIN rail terminal blocks. The pin barrel enables direct insertion into terminal sockets without requiring a flat seating area, making them the preferred choice for control panel wiring.

Available variants:

  • Copper Pin-Type Crimping Lugs (Insulated and Uninsulated)
  • Pin Lugs for Flexible Conductors
  • Bootlace Ferrules (End Sleeves) for fine-stranded conductors

Standards:
IEC IS 191 | IS 613 | IS 1359
Conductor range: 0.75 mm² – 95 mm²

For environments where corrosion resistance is critical—such as marine applications, coastal installations, chemical plants, or high humidity enclosures—our electro-tinned copper lugs provide a
protective tin coating. This coating prevents oxidation at the contact interface without compromising electrical conductivity.

Available variants:

  • Tinned Copper Tubular Cable Terminal Ends (crimping type)
  • Tinned Copper Lugs — Two Hole
  • Tinned Copper Transformer Lugs (heavy duty, for transformer LV busbar connections)

Standards:
IS 191 | IEC 61238-1/BS EN 61238-1| IS 1359
Conductor range: 4 mm² – 400 mm²

Multi-hole lugs are specified for high-current busbar connections where mechanical stability and uniform current distribution across multiple contact points are required. Four-hole variants are commonly utilized in switchgear panels, distribution boards, and transformer secondary connections

Available variants:

  • Crimping Type Copper Tubular — Two Hole (Standard & Economy Range)
  • Four Hole Cable Terminal Ends (Standard & Economy Range)
  • Tinned Copper Two Hole Lugs

Standards:
IS 191| IS 5082
Conductor range: 25 mm² – 1000 mm²

Applications

HEX electrical lugs are specified across a broad spectrum of power and industrial applications:

Power Distribution & Transmission Transformer LV terminal connections, MV/LV switchgear panels, distribution boards, bus ducts, and cable termination kits for XLPE and PVC insulated cables.

Industrial Installations Motor control centres (MCCs), variable frequency drives (VFDs), control panels, cable management systems in process plants, refineries, and manufacturing facilities.

Infrastructure Projects Railway electrification (25 kV AC traction), metro rail systems, airport electrical systems, Data Center power distribution, and renewable energy installations (solar and wind power plant cabling).

Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) Switchgear manufacturers, transformer manufacturers, generator set manufacturers, and panel builders who specify lugs as a standard Bill of Materials (BOM) component.

Export Markets HEX copper and tinned copper lugs are supplied to contractors and distributors in the UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Kenya, and the UK under international standard specifications.

Why Engineers & Procurement Managers Specify HEX Lugs

Manufacturing Depth HEX is a direct manufacturer, not a trader. Our
Brass, Copper & Alloy (I) Ltd. manufacturing facility has over 35 years of precision non-ferrous metal fabrication experience, giving us full control over material sourcing, dimensional tolerances, and surface treatment quality.

ISO 9001 Certified Quality System Every production lot is subject to documented incoming material inspections, in-process dimensional checks, and finished-goods testing for pull-out force and contact resistance. Quality certificates and test reports are available upon request.

Traceable Raw Materials Our copper rod stock is sourced from certified smelters with full material traceability. This traceability is critical for projects requiring compliance certificates under IS 8309 Annex guidelines or third-party inspections.

Trusted by Tier-1 Clients Marquee EPC and OEM clients, including ABB, Siemens, and L&T, regularly procure HEX lugs as an approved vendor supply for major infrastructure projects across India.

Supply Reliability for Large Volumes Equipped with in-house tooling, multi-press production lines, and localized raw material procurement, we seamlessly support high-volume minimum Order Quantities (MOQs) with consistent lead times—essential for tight project procurement schedules

Complete Accessory Ecosystem HEX also manufactures crimping tools calibrated for our lug die sets, ensuring correct crimp geometry and eliminating the risk of under- or over-crimping in the field.

Electrical Lug Selection Guide

Selecting the correct lug requires matching five critical parameters:

  1. Conductor material: Match the metal type (e.g., copper conductor copper lug; aluminium conductor – aluminium or bimetallic lug).
  2. Conductor cross-section (mm²) : Match the lug barrel’s bore diameter to the conductor’s outer diameter (OD) for the target cross-section.
  3. Conductor type : Choose based on structure (solid, stranded Class 2, or flexible Class 5/6). Note that flexible conductors may require bell mouth or bootlace ferrule variants.
  4. Termination configuration: Select ring/tongue designs (single-hole, two-hole, or four-hole) for bolted connections, or pin-types for socket style terminal blocks.
  5. Environmental conditions: Use bare copper for dry indoor environments; tinned copper for coastal, humid, or chemically aggressive environments; and silver-plated options for high-temperature or high-vibration applications.

Note: For applications involving aluminium conductors terminated into copper busbars or switchgear, always specify bimetallic lugs to prevent galvanic corrosion at the Al-Cu interface.
